That is biologically normal. When your brain starts dipping into dream state things like that can happen. It's like a half dream, it is a true hallucination and you an get similar states with an extreme lack of sleep. It doesnt happen all the time because you have to be in a certain point time wise before the dream state. If I were to guess it was between 20-30 minutes after you truly fell asleep.
